A Day in the Life... One Month

Since everything tends to blur with time (I like the saying by Gretchen Rubin of The Happiness Project: the days are long but the years are short.) I'd like to outline a day in the life of me and Amanda, one month at a time.

This is not meant to be a literal play-by-play, but more a collection of all the lovely moments that make up the days.

A great day starts with a restful night, so we'll begin after midnight.

1:30am
Wake to Amanda fussing. Feed her and watch and episode of "Buffy" with headphones on so as not to wake the Hubs. Change dirty diaper then go back to sleep.

5:30am
Repeat above, except put Amanda down to sleep and then go get a cup of coffee and take a shower. Hubs kisses both of us goodbye and goes to work.

8:30am
Amanda wakes again. Sing "Good Morning" song. Feed her in living room and start episode of "Clean House." Change dirty diaper and wash her face. Dress her in clean outfit, place her in stroller, and go for 20 min. walk around neighborhood. Don't forget the water bottle!

10:30am
Feed Amanda again, change her again, and then put her down to sleep. Start load of dirty washcloths and clothes. Get online. Take funny photos of Amanda and Sam and e-mail them to the Hubs at work. Eat lunch.

12:30pm
Amanda wakes again. Feed her in living room and finish episode of "Clean House." Change dirty diaper. Put her down to sleep. Hang up wet laundry to dry. Lie down for nap.

3:30pm
Wake up. Do some quick chores around the house. Amanda wakes again. Feed her in living room and watch episode of "Clean House." Hubs comes home and changes her dirty diaper and snuggles with Amanda while watching "Pickers." Read on front porch in the afternoon sunshine.

6:30pm
Feed Amanda while eating dinner and watching more Netflix. Hubs changes her dirty diaper and puts her down to sleep. Cuddle with Hubs on the couch. (Plan B: Amanda fusses and has a melt down until 8:30. It's okay. Babies cry.)

8:30pm
Amanda wakes. Feed her, change her dirty diaper and then put her down to sleep. Go to sleep.
